 A hill workout 3 400m hill, we ran one mile there and I did a mile with my friend later.

Ran 3 miles with the team in alpine, then came home and ran to the white church and back to get four. My 3 I ran a 8:06 pace and my 4 I ran a 6:40-7:10 pace....It felt good :) By the way I am the girl in the side in my picture 455

I ran to Timpanogos temple, then turned back and it started blowing hard. So hard it pushed me off the sidewalk, I had a feeling to cut my run short and I was right. My dad was looking for me, I was almost home though ( not even .2) weird  day!

Finally I did my long run!! I did a new route with my parents, in Alpine it was fun. We even saw the tour de run race which was cool! I saw my 8th grade English teacher, and learned that she lives in the same city I do!!

The team did 1000's, but Tawny told me to run around the park because of my 10k tomorrow!!! I'm soooo excited! I've never done the Deseret News before, I've done the spectrum...but that's a different race. But anyway, I took it easy and just did 3, I really want to do good =) 

And finally I can do 45 this week!! I don't have anything this week!! Yay!!

Today was an strange race. Considering the fact I was 2 minutes slower and I had amazing splits!! It was soooo humid, and I'm not used to running in the humidity with the heat! The course was mostly downhill, with slight uphills but it just seemed tough today, and I don't know why exactly. Maybe, cause I didn't warm-up cause I got there late, and I didn't eat anything and it was humid. But I don't know. The reason I'm not super mad is because I got under 19:30 at my 5k split!!! I got 19:29! ( cutting it close) I was elated and my 2 mile split was 12:01! Crazy, so maybe this was just a bad race for me, but there's always a silver lining to every cloud  :)

Thanks, wasn't that good. But I'm happy with my splits. By the way, good job on second place!! :) you did really good, I can't believe people can run that fast for 26.2 miles!! It's crazy, I'm sticking with halfs.

I ran 4 miles with the team, then came home and did a slow, crazy run of 2.5. Half a mile shorter than I planned but my legs are sore from Des News....which I didn't think they would be, because I didn't have a really good race. Well, we are doing a run up Suncrest tomorrow, hopefully I won't be too sore. I can't imagine what the marathoners are going through, I only did a 10k....well I guess I've never ran in Salt Lake before, besides state.

It was a pretty morning, I woke up took Sophie out and went to xc. We went four miles it was fairly warm for 7am; I then went 3.5 miles with my mom and it was raining   storming with strong winds. We went pretty slow, but the rain eventually stopped.


Well it's going to be weird because, I'm not doing a long run with my parents. My usual 14 miles, I hope I can do; because, I'm going with a teammate tomorrow and she hasn't gone as far as I have for my long runs hopefully I get at least 13 or 14 so I can get above 40 :/  I'm kinda excited to shake up the routine though :) I guess I can always run more later.

Went on a trail run with my teammate, Monica. We went on the mountain trail then came down through to Lone Peak. After, she went home, I went for a 3 mile run to the pond. I even saw some of the Timp Half people still running, I was jealous I really wanted to run that race.

That was the smart thing to do. It's hard to back off when you're trying to prepare for the upcoming XC season, but you'll be so much better off in the long term.

Did mile repeats today on the grass. Knees are feeling better, but to be safe I didn't add any more mileage as I am going swimming today.

I still had a little pain in my knee, so I took it easy. When on a mountain trail with the team, it was fun, but a poor new girl got cut on her leg; it was bleeding pretty bad. I hope she gets it taken care of! I felt bad for the poor girl, hopefully she will come again.

Ran up Cedar hills drive, down by the big golf course hill. At the end, I followed the highway road turned by Lone Peak, then ran around the track once, then ran around the pond once. I came up ran past the greenhouses and then my knee pain started again. It dug into my leg so I walked a little then I would run. When I got to the park, my leg was done for, I was surprised how far I actually went, since my knee is still healing. I ran for 93 minutes took it nice and slow. I'm going to ice my leg, and it felt nice I slept in until 7:30, which felt nice cause I usually have to wake up earlier than that. I hope I can get new shoes, and my mileage up next week.

400m hills today, man, they were tough. We did a mile warm up and then did 3 repeats, my times were 1:49, 1:52, 1:57. Then after that we ran 200m up the first hill to the stop sign, we sprinted there. I don't know that time, but whatever. Mile cooldown.

I wasn't 100 percent sure how far we went, last time it was four on this trail run and I did a mile later, I planned to do more but the back of my left knee was stinging so I cut it short. My new shoes feel great!! I love them! My knee is just stupid and wants to hurt or something.

Alpine days! Got a ride with Rachel, we got there and walked over to the fire station. Then they walked us up further and we were off. The first mile was 6:04, the course was hilly and tougher than I thought it would be. The second was 13:02, I was mad at that one I wanted under 13. The last mile I was at 19:44, I was so tired though it was a hard race. It was fun though, my knee hasn't been bothering me so I probably will bump my mileage back up to 40 next week, since it was really low this week.

This was not a good idea. I ran 8 400's with the team, and then ran the mile back so 3, then ran 5 to the sillows and back. My hamstring got pulled. I limped nearly .5 home, I'm mad I really need to do high mileage for the last week. But I don't want to be injured.

The 1.5 time trial was today, to see who would run varsity for Grass Relays, two of our top runners weren't there ( girls anyway) The course was .15 too long, so our times seemed slow. I got 10:42 which seemed a little slow. I caught the last boy who was running, which was my goal. I was the first girl, but my knee still hurt on the last lap which annoyed me, I think it is getting better. I'm still talking to my doctor tomorrow.

Short run today with team, then to the doctor. He said it was a hamstring strain and he gave some exercises to do. And if it gets worse to go back in......which I will probably have to do.

I hate life right now. Don't get me wrong, I had a pain free start I did the exercises the doctor said to I was feeling great then. BAM! Pain. The same pain, it came harder than before, I had to limp the rest of the way home. I would try to run, but the hamstring was so tight and I wasn't sure why. I guess I'm going to have to bike or something, cause that was the worst run, pain wise I've had. I'm really frustrated right now. I wanted to have MUCH higher mileage so I could have a solid base for the season, well I guess that is the best I can do right now.

ok, haven't been here in a while so i'm updating everything. XC ended on a sad note, we didn't qualify for state by a point. I missed qualifying as a individual by one place, But it isn't over yet. I still have footlocker which I am anxiously preparing for, this week was a half rest/ half still training week, just simple mileage. My hamstring is fine now, I hope I won't have anymore problems. I am getting new shoes, I lost mine at region so I am getting new shoes (they were getting old anyway.)
